Swim Meet in Eugene, Day 2

I had to get up at 5:00 today (actually, I got up at 5:35 because I didn’t have the speaker plugged in properly on my iPod), even though the afternoon session wasn’t supposed to start until 12:45, because I had to be dropped off at Andrew’s house when my dad took Isa to the morning session (I was riding with Andrew), at 6:20. My mom is in New Jersey for a wedding right now, so that’s why she wouldn’t be able to take me to Andrew’s house later.
I swam the 200 free, 50 free, and 400 free today. In the 200 free, I got 2:22, which is a Sectional time by two seconds, but still a second off my best time. Kate said I need to go faster on my third 50.
I got 29.49 in my 50 free. 39 hundredths of a second off my best time. It’s bothering me that I’m 1 100th of a second off a 14 year-old Sectional time, and I just can’t get it. Oh well, I’ll get it at State.
In the 400 free, I got 5:03.91, which is just under a second faster than my old time. I asked Kate how I should swim this, and she said to do the first 200 hard and the second 200 sprint. I did, but something happened on the second 100, I think I got scared or something, and I started losing speed in the middle. My splits were 1:11, 1:16, 1:19, and 1:15 (or something). Yikes. I was just having trouble at this meet. Plus, it’s a bad pool. But hey, I don’t think anyone else got DQ’d in two events on one day, so maybe I set a record!
I can’t wait till State!

On another note, my new 15″ PowerBook G4 1.5GHz that I ordered shipped today!
